Malco Products, Inc.

Malco Products, Inc. was founded in 1950 and pioneered a hugely successful market niche with its innovative specialty hand tools for the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Trade (Installers of Metal and Fiberglass Ductwork Systems). In 1975 Malco also created a vital specialty tool market for Exterior Remodeling Professionals (Installers of Roofing, Siding and Gutter) and holds the leadership position in that niche as well. Malco continues to innovate and lead by addressing a changing industry landscape and responding to emerging market needs for new specializations and more customized offerings. Malco’s latest innovation is an installation system for In-Floor Radiant Heating applications consisting of an Uncoiler Turntable and a Foamboard Stapler for use with flexible PEX (polyethylene cross-linked tubing).

The versatile new Malco Uncoiler takes up very little space in a truck or van. The entire unit stores in a compact, steel-reinforced case and carrying weight is only 50 lbs (22.7 kg). Setup is fast and easy. The open case, with a built-in turntable, serves as the Uncoiler base. No tools are required for assembly. The heavy-duty turntable supports up to 500 ft (152 m) coils of 1 in (25.4 mm) Pex tubing and up to 1000 ft (305 m) coils of 1/2 in (12.7 mm) PEX. Durable steel component parts and simplicity of operation assure long service life. An eyelet loop, at the end of the unit’s rotating arm, allows tubing to be pulled off the Uncoiler in any direction. And factory-adjusted tensioning prevents backlash and spreading of tubing off the turntable regardless of coil size.

An innovative Malco Stapling System firmly secures a PEX tubing layout to the foamboard base of an in-floor radiant heating installation. The Malco Foamboard Stapler operates from a comfortable standing position. An ergonomic, D-grip handle keeps the operator’s hand in line while applying downward stapling pressure and when lifting and carrying the tool. A solid one-piece aluminum magazine provides easy loading and stands up to the most rugged job-site environments. And a smooth non-jamming stapling action automatically adjusts to set up and guide staples into foamboard without risk of the staple deforming or failing. Cleaner feeding, Malco Plastic Staples complete this non-jamming system. Staple loading strips are joined together with an invisible plastic micro weld that allows staples to separate cleanly as they are engaged in the stapler mechanism. And Malco’s extra-sharp, dual barbed staples increase “bite” and holding power in 1 in (25.4 mm) and 2 in (12.7 mm) foamboard. Additional barbs on the popular 2-1/2 in (63.5 mm) staple size actually double holding power in 2 in (50.8 mm) foamboard.
