I would like to attend the Hardlines Technology Forum, the premier technology event for the Hardlines Industry. The conference will enable me to attend a number of seminars that are directly applicable to my work on the project and allow me to network with a number of trading partners and supply chain technology experts. Many of the technical presentations give information on how to reduce costs, increase availability or deal with regulatory compliance issues. I am seeking approval for the registration fee, travel expenses to the conference and living expenses during the conference.

There are a number of technical presentations that I would attend that would give me some knowledge in areas of compliance that could immediately be put to use with the < project(s) you are working on > system. The presentations are done by experts and practitioners. I chose each of these presentations because it is directly related to an issue we are dealing with in the < project(s) you are working on > system right now. Getting the information in a seminar format will greatly reduce the research time and costs we would normally incur in researching the topics. I have only listed some of the seminars that I will attend as including all of them would make this memo too long.
"Saving Green by Being Green" by Bryan Larkin, will help
because we are currently looking at a number of Green initiatives and this session will provide insight into how supply chain automation can influence meeting this goal. The presentation will show how doing good by the environment can also be good for the bottom line.
"Deductions Fundamentals, Technology Enablers, Avoidance" by Jessica Butler, will help us with strategies and best practices to improve cash flow by reducing and controlling deductions. This session will include an update on emerging technologies used to manage deductions. Understanding the best way to prevent deductions will provide key information for the < project(s) you are working on >.

The opportunity will enhance my knowledge and skills. It will allow me to develop better contacts with industry experts. In addition it will allow me to develop contacts with our trading partners that will pay off in quicker resolutions to future problems/issues. After the conference I will be able to pass on much of what I learn to my colleagues with my notes, session handouts, and copies of the speaker presentations.
